Megsie's Home Made Pizza Dough

Nothing beats a delicious, mouth watering, home made pizza!  There are plenty of Gluten Free recipes out there, this one is wonderfully thick and chewy, and the best part, absolutely no kneading necessary!
 

PREP TIME: 15 minutes

COOK TIME: 20 minutes

 

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 packet yeast (approximately 1/4 oz.)
  • 2 cups (285g) gluten-free flour blend
  • 1 teaspoon xanthan gum (if your flour blend doesn't already include it)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  • Place a pizza stone or pizza tray on the lowest rack of your oven and preheat it to 450°F.
  • Combine warm water, brown sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until it becomes frothy.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine the flour blend and salt. Add the egg, olive oil, vinegar, and yeast mixture.
  • Mix on low speed for 1 minute.
  • Using an oiled spatula, transfer the gluten-free pizza dough onto a piece of parchment paper. With oiled hands, spread the dough into a round shape
  • 1st - Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • 2nd –Add your favourite toppings and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes.

 

Note:

  • You can use either active yeast or instant yeast for this recipe.
  • Feel free to substitute olive oil with your preferred oil.
  • If you prefer to make your own flour blend, combine 1 cup white rice flour, 3/4 cup brown rice flour, and 1/4 cup tapioca starch.
  • While you don't have to let the dough rise, it can be left to rise for up to 30 minutes for a fluffier crust.
